IT Manager - King's College Riyadh

Strategic Planning:

  • Maintain validity and awareness of IT matters as they affect or are likely to affect education and school administration.
  • Act as a member and for the school’s IT steering group.
  • Provide technical input and support towards the development and review of the school’s ICT Strategy.
  • Support the development and maintenance of budgeted resourcing and programme plans to meet all IT requirements of the school’s IT strategy.


Technical Support:

  • Supporting all staff with the use of the Microsoft Platform including MS Teams
  • Providing server management including networked anti-virus maintenance, firewall and effective back-up system.
  • Providing and maintaining access to the school network and email system externally, so enabling staff to work from home as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting all networked devices including desktop computers, laptops, interactive white boards, projectors, telephones and printers.
  • Supporting photocopiers and management of the related contract, including print server management and account maintenance.
  • Providing technical assistance to teachers and classes as needed.
  • Providing technical support for school functions such as concerts and meetings as required.
  • Repairing and laptops as required.
  • Installing, updating and configuring software on laptops and the network as required.
  • Providing technical support to future procurement of mobile IT devices such as tablets.
  • Assisting with the monitoring of the school’s network including anti-virus and E-safety.
  • Providing an immediate workable network for business continuity in a disaster recovery situation followed by the reinstating of the full working system within a reasonable timeline.
  • Providing technical data, hardware and software technical direction and support towards the effective use of the school’s Information Management System (ISAMS)
  • Assist in the set-up and maintenance of the school’s audio and visual equipment, whiteboards, projectors and audio system within the classrooms.
  • Maintain and update School App and website


To lead management information, communications system development, and operation:

  • To lead the development and operation of all management information and communications system across the school. Including, but not limited to:

Whole school management information system

School Internet

Parent Portal

Accounting and business management software

  • Internet connectivity and other internal communications systems, including phones, email, CCTV, etc.
  • To work to ensure the security and reliability of such systems.
  • To be the chief point of contract with pupil asset, WCBS, etc., as required.
  • To work with all administrative offices to ensure that these offices, and the school as a whole, obtain maximum benefit (in terms of improved service and in efficiency savings) from such systems and services.
  • To work across the Pre-Prep School to ensure maximum benefit to all academic and pastoral staff from such systems and services.
  • To provide appropriate training and advice or support to all staff (i.e. SLT, HODs, Teachers of Prep and Pre-Prep schools), ensure that services are sufficient, and to be alert to requirements for further developments.
  • To assist in the management of those administrative or support staff where their work involves responsibility for areas of ICT systems provision or support.


Managing IT Development Projects, Programs and procurement:

  • Manage, with support from IT steering group, IT development projects by utilising internal and external support, when required, and ensuring their timely and functional completion.
  • Responsible for managing the equipment replacement programme.
  • Implementing and maintaining a virtual learning environment (VLE); supporting staff in developing VLE provision and supporting all users including staff, pupils, parents and Board Members.
  • Responsible for advising on requirements and the procurement of all IT capabilities, laptops and all other IT requirements.
  • Responsible for advising on requirements and the procurement of server hardware and required operating systems software and required licenses.
  • Responsible for the management of outsourced IT support services.
  • Supporting the school’s Database and Website.
  • Providing on-going development and effective and efficient utilisation of the school’s MIS, including database management, archiving and other outputs.
  • Providing technical support and advice to users on other school database and software and for providing integration between systems.


Managing External suppliers:

  • Liaising and managing relations with external suppliers to ensure their service always meets the school’s needs, both functionally and financially.
